Legacy Beauty Academy is a Christian‑based, family‑owned, and family‑operated beauty academy rooted in faith, excellence, and generational impact. Founded in 1985, the academy was built upon a God‑given vision to mentor and develop the next generation of beauty leaders through faith, integrity, and excellence.
Our mission is to provide an elite beauty education that honors our rich heritage while embracing modern innovation. Here, we empower students to discover their true purpose, master their craft, and build a lasting professional legacy of their own.
Our journey includes the enduring legacy of Legacy Co‑Jackson Beauty Academy, formerly known as KSA, which was founded by Kyung “Kim” Sheridan, a native of Korea. Kim is a 1989 graduate of Select Beauty Academy and dedicated her life’s work to beauty education, leading with discipline, compassion, and a servant’s heart.
As Kim prepared for retirement, she intentionally entrusted the continuation of this sacred calling to Vanessa Virgil, a former KSA student, asking her to carry forward the Legacy of Beauty. Today, that legacy lives on through Christ‑centered leadership, intentional mentorship, and a commitment to developing not only skilled beauty professionals, but purpose‑driven leaders who serve their communities with faith and excellence.

Vanessa Renee is a visionary beauty industry leader, entrepreneur, and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Co. Salon & Spa Beauty Academy. She comes from a rich family heritage of hairstylists, makeup artists, barbers, and natural hair culturists, and she is deeply committed to preserving and advancing that legacy through excellence in beauty education and professional service.
Under new management leadership, Vanessa is dedicated to continuing the proud tradition of Legacy Jackson Beauty Academy by delivering a high-quality, transformative beauty experience. The Academy is focused on equipping students and clients alike with innovative styles, modern techniques, and the latest technology, preparing beauty professionals to thrive in an ever-evolving industry.
What sets Vanessa’s leadership apart is the integration of artistry with formal business education. With a business degree, she brings strategic planning, operational excellence, and sustainable growth principles into the beauty academy environment.
As CEO, Vanessa holds ultimate responsibility for all day-to-day operations and for implementing the organization’s short-term and long-term strategic plans. Her leadership is rooted in integrity, vision, and a deep commitment to excellence.
